How do I place an order?

How can an international order be placed?
International orders should use One Triton Circle, Fort Dodge, IA 50501 as the shipping address in the checkout process and then you must contact the Online Bookstore (see below).
International orders are shipped USPS and the costs varies based upon the location the package is being sent to, weight and size of the package. You will be given credit for the $10.95 charge in the checkout process. You must contact the Online Bookstore via email (OnlineBookstore@IowaCentral.com) or by phone (1-800-362-2793 ext. 1080 or 515-574-1080) with your charge card information to pay for the additional shipping costs before your order will be shipped.

Can I use financial aid to pay for my books?
Yes, if you have financial aid in your account, contact the Online Bookstore at 1-800-362-2793 ext. 1082 or 515-574-1082 or send us an email (OnlineBookstore@IowaCentral.com) before you place an order so a book voucher can be set up. Financial aid does not cover shipping or local pick-up fees. (8 week online students should contact Luke Grove at 515-574-1095 or 1-800-362-2793 ext. 1095.)

What are the Iowa Central Bookstore's shipping policies?
Iowa Central Bookstore is proud to offer you the most competitive shipping rates. All of our shipments are professionally packed to ensure the safety of your items in route.
Orders placed after 1 p.m. Central time will be processed the following business day.
On average, your order will be received in 4 - 7 working days from the time that it is processed. During August or December, delivery time may take longer. Please refer to the map below for average delivery times to your location.

Do you offer used textbooks?
Our goal at Iowa Central is to ensure all students are able to obtain the course materials they need at reasonable prices. Currently only new textbooks are available through our online store. As our store grows we will be able to offer our customers a choice of new and used textbooks.

What is the Iowa Central Bookstore's return policy?
We are confident that you will enjoy our products. So confident that if you are not completely satisfied, you may return non-classroom items purchased within 14 days from the day you received your order and receive a full refund. All items must be returned in the original condition. If the return is due to our error, shipping charges will be refunded.
CLASSROOM MATERIALS OR TEXTBOOK return policy is five (5) working days from the start of the sessions with receipt. Items purchased online must to be returned to the online store for a refund to the original credit card or account used for payment. Packing list and receipt must be included with each return. Returns missing this information can not be credited. If the return is due to our error all shipping charges will be refunded to the original credit card or account used for payment.
Items brought to the on campus location purchased online will be given a credit directly applied to the students college account balance. If this transaction results in a credit balance to the student account, a refund check equal to the amount of the credit will be issued by the Business Office to the student within ten days of the return. After the five (5) working day allowance the refund will be 50 percent of the purchase price.
Students requesting a refund at the on campus site must present a class schedule, identification, drop slip and bookstore receipt. This is done to ensure that a book has not been illegally obtained and being returned for profit by someone other than the purchaser.
- CDs and DVDs must be unopened, still in the shrink-wrap or original protective packaging.
- New books must include all software with unopened packages as well as all intact Web codes, still in shrink-wrap or original protective packaging. Textbooks must be in original condition.
- Used books must not include any additional highlighting, writing, drawings etc.
Return Policy Instructions
Include the packing slip and receipt (receipt can be reprinted on the order history page) with your return. Repackage your item(s) in the original packaging or in an appropriate cardboard box. Using packing material (e.g. Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, etc) around your item(s), pack and tape your package securely. Select a carrier that offers you the option to insure and track your package. UPS, FedEx, and USPS all offer this option. Insuring and tracking your package protects you as the shipper and helps ensure your shipment goes to the correct destination in the same condition it was as when you sent it. Write down your tracking number and keep it until Iowa Central Bookstore has refunded your money. Ship your return to the following address:

Arrange for a carrier to pick up your package or drop it off with the carrier. Shipping is the responsibility of the customer and is not refundable, unless due to our error. No credit is given for lost or damaged packages in route to Iowa Central Bookstore. Please insure and track your package. Returns to Iowa Central Bookstore will be refunded to the original credit card or account used for payment unless a different payment option was selected. Iowa Central Bookstore will contact you for credit card/account information to administer the appropriate refund to you. A refund will be posted to your credit card or account once your return is received and processed. Processing times for returns vary, and may take up to 30 days from the day the return is received for a credit to be transmitted to your credit card or account. It normally takes 2-10 business days for financial institutions to process the transmitted credit request.

What is the Iowa Central Bookstore's textbook buyback policy?
ICBS buys back textbooks all year. Although buyback is not a guarantee for every book, any book which can be sold back is money in the bank for you! ICBS will buy back your books if they are being used in the following semester and we have not yet acquired needed quantities.
Effective April 1, 2005, the Iowa Central Bookstore will no longer be paying cash for textbook buybacks. Instead, credit for books will be applied directly to the students college account balance. If this transaction results in a credit balance on the students account, a refund check equal to the amount of the credit will be issued by the Business Office to the student within ten days of the return.
This new policy will apply to all returned books including those returned during the book buy-back period at the end of each college term.
Students requesting a buyback at the on campus site will be required to show their class schedule and identification.
Off campus students wishing to resell their textbooks may send them to our on campus site address. Students must complete the Online Bookstore Buy Back Form and include it with the textbooks they are returning. Students are responsible for personal shipping charges. Buyback will be determined by the Bookstore manager based on needed quantities and the condition of the textbook. Should a refund be issued, a credit will be applied directly to the students account. If a refund is not available toward the buyback of the textbook, the textbook will either be shipped backed to the owner at their request and expense or remain the property of ICBS based on the seller’s decision indicated on the buy back form.

When should I order my text books?
Iowa Central strives to offer the most current textbooks. As a result, new editions are constantly being added to our list of books and the older editions are deleted. In order prevent ordering the wrong edition, orders should be placed within two weeks of the start of the semester.
